Recently some politicians have been saying that the US has massive amounts of oil under its own soil. Called the 'strategic reserve' it's no surprise to those of us in the peak-oil movement that countries try to deplete their own stores last, but what is surprising is that people seem to take seriously these up-starts who are seeking election or re-election who try to convince us that the world has infinite resources. No brainer question: would you believe a politician or a geologist?
